CES: Nvidia unveils Tegra 4 SoC

Targeted at smartphones and tablets, gaming devices, auto infotainment and navigation systems, the chip is designed to provide extended battery life, superior graphics processing, ultra fast web browsing and new camera capabilities through computational photography. Previously codenamed 'Wayne', the Tegra 4 features 72 custom Nvidia GeForce gpu cores and includes the first quad core application of ARM's, the Cortex-A15 cpu core. According to Nvidia, it also enables worldwide 4G LTE voice and data support through an optional chipset, the fifth generation Nvidia Icera i500 processor.
