Paragon Technologies adds investment in China subsidiary

Paragon Technologies adds investment in China subsidiary Ninelu Tu, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Monday 4 February 2013] Paragon Technologies, a Taiwan-based provider of vacuum sputtering services for plastic notebook chassis, will invest US$15 million to expand vacuum sputtering capacity at its subsidiary's factory in eastern China, according to the company. The expanded capacity will mainly be used for Paragon's car wheel rim vacuum sputtering business. The expansion is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2013 and will double the company's current capacity, the company noted. With netbooks gradually phasing out from the PC market and ultrabooks mostly adopting metal chassis, which do not need vacuum sputtering services, Paragon has already turned its focus to the non-notebook industry to seek further growth.
