China auto chip consumption set for higher growth at close of 2013, says IHS Press release, September 30 [Monday 30 September 2013] The automotive semiconductor market in China is set to grow 10% by the end of 2013, double the expansion rate of 2012 in light of increased demand, according to IHS. China's automotive-related semiconductor consumption will generate revenues worth US$4.1 billion in 2013, up from US$3.8 billion in 2012, said IHS. The double-digit growth forecast by the end of 2013 will represent solid improvement from the 3.5% uptick of 2012, when expansion was slower because of weakness in global automotive markets. The next four years will continue to bring about robust growth as increases range from 9-12%, culminating in 2017 revenues of US$6.1 billion, IHS noted.
