Taiwan market: Samsung, Apple, HTC take up 60% handset market in February Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Monday 26 March 2012] Samsung Electronics, Apple and HTC were the top-3 handset vendors in the Taiwan market in February, accounting for a combined market share of about 60%, according data compiled by local retail channels. Buoyed by strong sales of its Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note smartphones, Samsung took up the top-rank vendor title with a 31% share in terms of sales volume, followed by Apple and HTC with each holding a 23-24% share, the data showed. In terms of sales value, Apple was the number one vendor in February with a 30% share, while Samsung trailed slightly behind with a market share also closing to 30%.
