Panetta: Was engineering always a dream of yours? Milcalrek: Surprisingly, no. My focus in high school was on drawing, painting, and carving in a number of different media. However, I also enjoyed my math and physics courses. After graduating from high school, I went to Syracuse University to study Industrial Design, while also taking courses in calculus and physics. After a year, I took a leave of absence from college to perform missionary labors in the south west region of the United States. The events that transpired over the next two years surprised me. The simple luxuries of proper air quality, heating, cooling, living space and sanitary conditions were missing from many homes that I worked on. After that experience I knew I needed a stronger technical foundation in order to develop solutions to the problems I had encountered. Returning to Syracuse in the fall of 2011...
