Startups, Robots Drive YC Founder
SAN JOSE, Calif. — These days Trevor Blackwell is head-down, trying to coach startups as a co-founder of Y Combinator , but he still devotes a little time to his passion for robotics. We caught up with him this week to talk about his opinions in both areas. In 2005, Blackwell was one of four founders of Y Combinator, a startup incubator that helped ignite a trend toward high-speed innovation centers. Each year YC gives seed funds to a few dozen startups and coaches them along to their first prototype demos. Y Combinator has funded a whopping 740 or more startups to date, including hits such as AirBnB, Dropbox, Pebble, and Reddit. We got started in Boston.
