Fabless chip company Dialog Semiconductor plc announced that they had integrated security technology into its SC14453S voice-over-IP processor from startup Intrinsic-ID BV. Dialog (Kirchheim-unter-Teck, Germany) plans to use the Intrinsic-ID technology to ensure that only authenticated software can run on the SC14453S platform. Intrinsic-ID core is used to store message authentication tag for a bootloader or software image of a particular customer without the need for embedded non-volatile memory , which would be a hacking weakness. Intrinsic-ID (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) is a spin-off from Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) founded in 2008.
