March LED light bulb price fell by 2% in US market

March LED light bulb price fell by 2% in US market Siu Han, Taipei; Jackie Chang, DIGITIMES [Monday 30 April 2012] Due to the introduction of new LED light bulb products, global LED light bulb retail pricing in March 2012 showed signs of stability, after continuous price falls in the previous two quarters. According to research institutes, the global average price of LED light bulbs to replace a traditional 40W light bulb returned to US$21/unit in March. The rebound was due to the introduction of new light bulbs with new functions such as sensing and omni lighting angles. Furthermore, due to currency devaluations, the price of LED light bulbs in South Korea and Germany grew by 5% and 6% respectively. The US is the only market that showed a 2% price decrease. The March global price of LED light bulbs to replace traditional 60W incandescent products continued falling by 1.6%...
