#Tech Japan Postpones Output Restriction for Residential Solar Power Systems

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) issued ministerial orders and announcements related to the revision of the operation of the feed-in tariff (FIT) policy Jan 22, 2015. The orders are based on the results of studies conducted by (1) New and Renewable Energy Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee for Natural Resources and Energy and (2) Grid Working Group of the subcommittee (See related article ). They will become effective Jan 26, 2015. However, in view of public comments, part of the proposed revision was changed in relation to the "output control rule," according to the ministerial orders. According to the proposed revision, "the output control, which is limited to 500kW or higher-output facilities, will also be applied to less-than-500kW solar and wind power generation facilities and implemented on the date of the official announcement scheduled in ...
