Sony Computer Entertainment starts operation of console games Chinese-language translation center in Taiwan Ocean Chen, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Friday 25 May 2012] Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has begun operation of its center for Chinese-language translation of console games developed by SEC and independent developers in Taiwan, according to industry sources. SEC began planning for establishing the center in July 2011 and then undertook trial run by translating six console games into Chinese, including Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2 developed by Japan-based Square Enix, the sources indicated. It takes from one to six months to finish Chinese-language translation of a console game, and the most important for translation is to maintain the original essence of a console game and to cater to Chinese-language users' taste, the sources said..
