From hardware vendor to turnkey solution provider: Q&A with Shuttle Ricky Morris, DIGITIMES, Taipei [Wednesday 6 June 2012] The PC hardware industry has begun to evolve rapidly in recent years. The emergence of various hardware and software solutions and platforms has enabled hardware players to differentiate their products by venturing into the development of customized software platforms that complement their hardware designs. After initial success designing small form factor PCs that did not compromise on features and performance, Shuttle, in 2009, re-invented itself as a manufacturing design and service provider with the launch of its New Notebook Ecosystem, and has since then continued to expand that initiative to include tablet PCs. Most recently, Shuttle has begun to build its own software solutions which has given rise to its latest development, the Edupal platform...
