China is the world's largest solar module supplier. Most vertically integrated solar firms in China focus on selling solar modules. Compared to losses incurred in other segments of the supply chain, selling solar modules can generate more profits. Hence many China-based firms have been cutting their capacity for upstream products and issuing OEM orders to other firms to decrease losses.
