#wearables Industry to Reach $74B Value by 2025 #innovation #growth #IoT

A recent forecast suggests that the wearables technology market will have a $74 billion value by 2025. As the market improves and demand for current enabling components increases, an expected $25 million will be spent on formulations and intermediate materials. The increased overall value of the market will provide greater opportunity for wearables that better contour to the user. The creator of the forecast, IDTechEx Research , suggests that various factors favor a boom in the wearable technologies sector . The industry is receiving increased exposure due in part to traditional consumer electronics, which struggle to stand out because of saturation in the market. Figures support the interest, as searches pertaining to wearables have risen tenfold since 2013. In terms of investment, approximately $1 billion was devoted to the devices in 2014.
