Touch panel suppliers step up shipments for new iPhone Siu Han, Taipei; Alex Wolfgram, DIGITIMES [Friday 31 July 2015] Touch panel supply chains of the iPhone 6 have stepped up shipments for the next generation iPhone, with shipments of the new Apple smartphones expected to reach 36-40 million in the third quarter and 50 million in the fourth quarter, according to supply chain sources. The supply chains started shipping Force Touch modules in small amounts for the new iPhone in June, and began ramping up the shipments in July, the sources said. TPK recently noted it was heading into mass production for Force Touch technology in July, although it did not specify which customer the supply would go to. The company added its revenues are expected to increase 50% on quarter in the third quarter. The sources added they estimate iPhone shipments in 2015 will reach 230 million.
