Notebook ODMs to push for double-digit percentage growth in 3Q12 Aaron Lee, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Monday 6 August 2012] After estimating on-month drops in their July shipments, notebook ODMs are expected to start seeing their shipments in August rise on month with volumes to grow even higher in September as brand vendors' new products for the back-to-school season and year-end holidays start to appear. ODMs are also pushing their shipment volumes hoping to achieve sequential growths at double-digit percentage rates in the third-quarter, according to market watchers. In July, Quanta Computer, Wistron and Inventec are expected to have suffered more than 10% of on-month shipment drops, while Wistron is estimate to have suffered a 20% decline. ODMs will also start shipping Windows 8-based models in August with volumes expected to increase in September. Currently, som...
