Apple in-cell patent integrates touch and display electrodes - Electronics News

The patent, which was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), describes a number of ways by which the touch-sensing circuits are integrated within the LCD. Current technology has the touch layer as a separate entity placed over the display. Apple's own current technology as found in the iPhone 4S has a touch-sensitive element between the display's top glass and a protective glass layer. The new patent from Apple pertains ...
