Quanta to offer procurement management cloud computing services Aaron Lee, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 22 August 2012] Quanta Computer has begun offering cloud computing services with its in-house-developed TEAMS system to manage idle materials at factories, and will launch PPM, a procurement management system, in July 2013, according to company vice president TJ Fang. IT players such as Gigabyte Technology have already started testing Quanta's cloud computing platform for inspecting environmentally friendly raw materials. Fang also pointed out that although the ERP systems offered by SAP and Oracle have many strong functions, their high prices are pushing away small-to-medium size enterprises. If the ERP systems can be separated by different business segments allowing enterprise to rent only the parts they need, it will create numerous business opportunities...
