Inventec buys HTC building to house business-use PC R&D headquarters Aaron Lee, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 30 December 2015] Notebook ODM Inventec on December 29 announced the acquisition of a factory/office building located in Taoyuan City, northern Taiwan, at NT$6.060 billion (US$184.5 million) from smartphone vendor HTC, with the building to house R&D headquarters for its business-use PC business group. The building occupies land of 5.58 hectares and has total floor space of 119,471 square meters, Inventec said. The business-use PC business group, currently separately located in two factories, will move into the newly acquired building to reduce operating cost, Inventec indicated.
