Laser Tek to post profit growth on rising sales of high-margin products Patty Wang, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Friday 14 September 2012] Laser Tek, a supplier of passive component materials and production equipment, is expected to report revenue growth of 15-20% sequentially for the third quarter of 2012. Rising sales of the company's high-margin SMT (surface mount technology) equipment will help buoy its profitability during the period, according to industry sources. Laser Tek has been receiving more equipment orders recently from Japan-based chip resistor makers who are trying to reduce their production costs to cope with the appreciating Japanese yen, indicated the sources.
