The firm plans to regain turf with the introduction of two new Windows Phone 8 (WP8) smartphones and at least two new smartphones with Google's Android platform. Despite the rapid increase in popularity in China and emerging markets in Asia, HTC has been seeing falling sales in Europe and the US. HTC plans to introduce two new Windows Phone 8 (WP8) handsets in the US on September 19, 2012. Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, and Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, will both host the product launch.
