Taiwan government opens Cloud Open Lab

Taiwan government opens Cloud Open Lab Miranda Chuang, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 25 September 2012] The Taiwan government on September 24 started operation of Cloud Open Lab, a platform for matching software application providers, mainly independent software vendors (ISVs) and system integration (SI) service providers, with infrastructure providers mainly consisting of telecom carriers, server suppliers and data center operators. The lab will form part of the government's preparations for establishing 11 cloud computing application systems for the administration or public services at a total budget of NT$7 billion (US$236 million), according to minister without portfolio Simon Chang.
