Texas Instruments announced a power module with 65-V transient protection, integrating a DC/DC converter, inductor, and passives in a small package. The TPS84250 is the smallest and, according to the company, the only overmolded power solution capable of surviving 65V transients while delivering 2.5A, and the TPS84259 is the smallest and easiest to use positive-to-negative power solution. The TPS84250 meets the EN55022 Class B electromagnetic emissions standard, featuring frequency synchronization to cleanly power noise-sensitive analog circuits in test and measurement, industrial motor control, and medical and imaging applications. The step-down power module supports input voltages from 7V to 50V, providing a positive output voltage from 2.5V to 15V.
