Silica launches design competition for students

Silica is today launching its design competition, Pedal4Innovation, open to all engineering students at UK universities. The winning three students each securing £3000 towards their tuition fees. Earlier this year a team from Silica and its suppliers cycled 450 miles visiting UK universities and raising more than £36,000 for the P4I competition as well as supporting the Neuroblastoma Alliance and Alzheimer’s Research UK. “Our visits to some of the universities demonstrated that there is a great pool of engineering talent within the UK,” said Laurence Dellicott, EMEA director of field applications, “We want to support and nurture that talent and see that it realises its full potential, and the P4I design competition is all about making that happen,” said Dellicott.
