Thinking Electronic cautious about 4Q12 Patty Wang, Taipei; Jessie Shen, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 2 October 2012] Protective component maker Thinking Electronic Industrial has expressed caution about its business outlook for the fourth quarter of 2012, and indicated profits may come under downward pressure. Thinking Electronic estimated its current order visibility at about one month. Meanwhile, there is a growing concern about rising costs, the firm indicated. The recent rally in gold prices and a stronger NT dollar will put pressure on Thinking's profit performance during the fourth quarter, the firm said. Market sources have estimated Thinking Electronic's overall capacity utilization at 85-90%. Smartphones and tablets are currently Thinking's main target markets.
