Future turns on power business

Future Electronics has set up a business division to market and sell power components and modules from its suppliers. Called Future Power Solutions, the distributor will also sell configurable power supplies across Europe and the rest of the EMEA region through the business operation. "We can match small specialist suppliers’ technical capabilities while providing superior supply-chain service and global reach," said Steve Carr, technical and vertical markets director at Future Electronics. Carr sees an opportunity in this market which is traditionally served by specialist distributors because he believes "the market for OEM power supplies, both in terms of distributors and device manufacturers, is highly fragmented," The distributor's power product linecard will include: Power One, Murata Power Solutions, SL Power and Vicor.
