Imprinted flexible circuits in UK commercial production:

Cambridge imprinted semiconductor start-up PragmatIC has begun commercial production of organic transistors on flexible substrates, at the National Centre for Printable Electronics in Sedgefield, County Durham, formerly known as PeTEC. "This isn't just an interesting technology anymore, people are paying money for it. It will be on supermarket shelves in the near future, as soon as it has worked its way through the supply chain," PragmatIC CEO Scott White told Electronics Weekly. "We have already delivered for revenue with plenty of low-volume production. We are now in proper volume." White cannot reveal IC details or the customers until early next year. "I can tell you the markets," he said. "They are: consumer packaging and labelling; novelties - that's greetings cards, toys and games; and security which is ID cards and brand protection."
