FET to set up Internet data center in northern Taiwan Chloe Yu, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Monday 24 December 2012] Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), one of the three largest mobile telecom carriers in Taiwan, will establish an Internet data center in the Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park (Tpark) in New Taipei City, northern Taiwan, for providing cloud computing services, with construction to kick off possibly in 2013 and inauguration possibly at the end of 2015 or the beginning of 2016, according to company chief strategy officer and CTO Jeffrey Gee. FET has decided to relocated headquarters to Tpark, Gee noted. Tpark occupies land of 24 hectares (59.3 acres), with 60% zoned for industrial and business use and 40% for public facility use including green areas, Gee indicated.
