Low-dropout voltage regulator features 30µVRMS noise performance: NXP Semiconductors has announced the LD6806CX4...

NXP Semiconductors has announced the LD6806CX4 LDO (low-dropout) voltage regulator, featuring LDO of 60mV at a 200mA current rating. With 0.76x0.76x0.47mm WLCSP, the regulator is suitable for good space-constrained designs in mobile handsets, where battery life is also a critical success factor, says the company. Batteries in mobile phones discharge linearly over time, but the regulator compensates for this effect by providing a constant regulated output voltage, claims the company. If the battery voltage of a smartphone goes down to 3V, due to the LDO voltage the regulator is still able to support an SD card application with a mandatory and stable supply voltage of 2.9V. The company’s regulator features noise performance of 30µVRMS, which helps prevent changes in the regulated output voltage and eliminates the need for an external dedicated noise-reducing capacitor, claim...
