65,000 personal 3D printers sold in 2013. Explosive growth predicted.

Since 3D printing is a market that is only going to grow more and more with time, it makes sense that there are so many 3D printers being made by different companies. Everyone wants to get in on the action. Additionally, for the consumers and hobbyists purchasing printers, it gives them a wide selection, along with competitive prices and features. “SmarTech estimates that 65,000 personal 3D printers will be sold in 2013. These sales will generate about $110 million in 2013, growing to around $590 million by 2018. We have concluded that in 2013, 10 firms will account for more than 90 percent of the revenue generated by 3D printers,” SmarTech wrote in a press release .
