Unitech, Dynamic ramping rigid-flexible PCBs Patty Wang, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Monday 28 July 2014] PCB makers Unitech Printed Circuit Board and Dynamic Electronics are ramping up their production of rigid-flexible PCB boards to meet increasing demand from the smartphone and wearable device sectors, according to industry sources. Unitech plans to invest NT$1.5 billion (US$50.06 million) in 2014 mainly to expand its production capacity for HDI boards and rigid-flexible PCBs. The company is producing rigid-flex PCBs at its in Tuchen plant, northern Taiwan, and another plant in Shanghai, China. Shipments of rigid-flex PCBs currently account for 20% of Unitech's total sales, with the ratio likely to reach 25% by the end of 2014, said the sources.
