Commentary: Who will Nokia count on for its reentry bid to the smartphone market? Daniel Shen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Monday 27 July 2015] It is no longer a speculation that Nokia will be back to the smartphone market, and consumers are likely to catch sight of Nokia-brand smartphones once again in 2016 at the earliest. But it remains to be seen which handset ODM will be the new production partner for Nokia. Since Nokia has stated that it won't launch smartphones the way it used to be, leading market insiders to believe that Nokia will license its handset brand to a production partner, which may be responsible for R&D, manufacturing and also marketing of new Nokia smartphones - in a way similar to its licensing of Nokia N1 tablet to Foxconn Electronics. So it is reasonable to assume that Nokia is likely to choose Foxconn again as its production partner for next-gen...
