#cloudcomputing: #IoT Standards, Lower #Costs in 2016

An executive from Zebra Technologies shares a few predictions on developments in the Internet of Things market in 2016. In the coming year, the IoT market will mature to deliver more adaptable solutions in contrast to many closed, proprietary first-generation offerings. With an open-source approach, organizations will be able to choose from a larger pool of service providers and their respective application program interfaces (APIs), benefitting from a larger ecosystem. Working with entities such as the Internet Engineering Task Force, IoT will embrace more industry standards. This move will be crucial in the process of scaling and applying a level of quality, security and service checks-and-balances for the breadth of solutions being offered.
