China market: iPad Pro sales reach only 49,000 units in the first month Chia-Han Lee, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 22 December 2015] Apple's new enterprise tablet, the iPad Pro did not achieve expected sales in its first month after the launch in China selling only 49,000 units, according to China-based research firm TalkingData. The device's weak sales are believed to be the result of its high price, which starts at CNY5,888 (US$908). iPad Pro's first-month shipment performance was also weaker than that of the iPad Air 2, which achieved shipments of 557,000 in its first month, while the iPad mini 4 also achieved 92,000 in the first month. However, some market watchers still expect iPad Pro's worldwide sales to reach three million units in the first three months after launch, generating revenues of US$2.4 billion.
