ASE dismisses speculation about Ardentec acquisition Jessie Shen, DIGITIMES, Taipei [Monday 28 December 2015] Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) has posted a filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) dismissing a Chinese-language Commercial Times report indicating Ardentec is ASE's next acquisition target. Rumors have circulated among institutional investors that IC testing specialist Ardentec, which obtains orders from international IDMs such as Texas Instruments (TI) and NXP Semiconductors, is being targeted for acquisition by its larger peer ASE, according to the report. Ardentec's share price on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) rallied NT$1.05 (US$0.03), or 4.5%, to close at NT$24.20 on December 25. The price went down slightly to NT$23.65 on December 28.
