ADLINK's Dirk Finstel discusses the new COM Express 3.0 Type 7 pinout definition with @rnass

recently released a new version of its embedded computer board standard, one that redefined the pin-out. When dealing with a standard with a long history, changing the pin-out could unnerve designers who are comfortable designing to the previous version. In this week’s segment, I asked Dirk Finstel , who is the General Manager of ADLink ’s Modules Segment, why the association would undertake something like that. In addition, we addressed the backwards compatibility issue, which was one of my primary concerns (and likely yours).
